Rolando Reyes, Sr. is the patriarch of one of
the most famous families in the cigar
industry.  Don Rolando, as he is known,
started working for cigar companies when he
was 9 years old, eventually starting his own
brand, Los Aliados.  In 1968 the trademark,
factory, and all of Don Rolando's
possessions were confiscated by the new
communist government.  Don Rolando was
ordered to work in the El Rey del Mundo
factory, but refused.  He was sent to work in
the rice fields, until he was able to emigrate
to the US.  There, he restarted his brand,
naming it Cuba Aliados, and later started the
Puros Indios brand.  He consistently makes
some of the best cigars on the market, and
continues to run quality control over his
entire staff, even at the age of 86.
