The Metropolitan Cigar Society, located in Fairfield, NJ, just west of Manhattan, is a model for all private cigar clubs in the country. Founded in 1994, the Metro is the oldest non commercial establishment of its kind in the US. It gives cigar enthusiasts a refuge to enjoy their hobby and not worry about dirty looks or caustic comments. It encompasses 4,300 square feet, and include a main lounge, a "quiet area", kitchen facilities, a game room, a walk in humidor with 190 lockers, and the new La Cubana Room, home of their famous monthly dinners, which draws some of the biggest names in the cigar industry.
