2010 Midwest Cigar Summit to feature Phoenix Cigars
12/16/2009
The Midwest Cigar Summit is pleased to announce that Phoenix Cigars will be available at the 2010 Midwest Cigar
Summit.
The cigar is produced at Rocky Patel's factory in Danli, Honduras exclusively for Smoke Signals Tobacconist, Long
Island, NY's premier cigar shop.
The cigar is medium bodied, and features a Nicaraguan filler and Honduran binder, and is wrapped in a rare Costa
Rican maduro wrapper. The cigar features hints of oak, leather, cocoa, and spice, and is perfect for the palate of any
cigar smoker.
A big thanks goes out to Scott Stanley, owner of Smoke Signals, and a good friend of mine. He is one of the good guys
of the cigar industry, and has been one of the most vocal supporters of cigar rights around. He is a personal lifetime
member of Cigar Rights of America, and Smoke Signals has been classified by CRA as a Great American Smoke Shop.
Earlier this year, Scott held a tax protest at his store. The Phoenix, which with New York's draconian 46% tobacco tax,
retails for $6.50, was sold for $4.50. This is what the cigar would be retailed for if it weren't for all the state, local, and
federal taxes added on. As if this wasn't enough, anyone who purchased a Phoenix received a copy of the
Constitution, to remind you of what our founding fathers had in mind.
